Unfurling buds

The temperatures are much cooler at present, but we still enjoyed some sunny spells. We thought we would go hiking at Long Branch Farms to see the herons’ nests, but in that we were disappointed, since the trees they had been nesting in for the last 3 or 4 years had apparently fallen down, so there were no nests! When I got back home and checked on their Facebook page, apparently they are now nesting across the river and a bit further along, but we didn’t see them from our vantage point. So we walked a different trail instead, and came across these unfurling buds to serve for my blip instead.
