Farewell my beautiful girl

March 14 2025, We said goodbye to our dear Nettie. Nettle, Ned, Neddy, Big dog, Beautiful girl, she knew who she was.
The loss of our Nettie just a few short weeks after Lacy’s passing just seems to compound and amplify the emotions.
It seemed a good idea to put a wee collection of my favourite images together. That was when I found that I have around 4000 images with her name in the keywords. What a trip through the memories this has been.
How would I characterise the Nettle? She was one of those dogs that would look you straight in the eye. It always felt to me as if she connected with you in a very direct way and that she simply knew. To me this photo of her on her last day speaks to that. She was a happy dog, she found joy in most things; food, play, meeting people, quiet time, swimming, balls, exploring – a little too much, chase the hose was too irresistible but most of all simply being with her people.
