Lamb Pasture
One day I will attempt the Bannisdale Horseshoe in the footsteps of Wainwright but its about 11 miles and I'll need a support team. Today we followed a route that visits the two peaks at the eastern end of the round to see what the ground underfoot was like. We ascended Lamb Pasture (367m) made our way down into the valley then up the other side to Whiteside Pike (397m) . 11km, 494 m of climb and 3 picnic stops. The scenery was amazing and we saw nobody else. (Well other than the farmer's wife at Dry Howe Farm) when we asked permission to go through the farm.) Blip is the view up the Bannisdale valley from Lamb Pasture. View from Whiteside Pike summit in extras plus one of the interesting rock formations on Whiteside Pike
PS is anyone else having an issue with the background map not showing properly. Do we know why this is happening?
