Lindisfarne (Holy Island)

So many nice pictures from today, en route to Edinburgh; but this is one of my faves, our lunchtime stop off at Holy Island, off the coast of Northumberland.

The tide was perfect and we arrived just as it had turned; an enormous procession of cars flying back over the causeway. A couple of pedestrians had to wade back.... If you're not mindful, the tide sneaks in behind you and traps you, hence the hut on stilts above the sea level for stranded pedestrians.

Marcus has a cunning plan to get stuck their one day. I'll bring sandwiches.
