Sale and Sail

Pale sunshine and a strong warmish breeze made checking over the rigging of the Club Feva easy, in parts. The mainsail and the jib flapped into place merrily  But, even having gone to the  training day yesterday rigging the Feva's spinnaker so that the bowsprit came out simultaneously when raising the sail had me defeated, which was dejecting. The lesson being, READ THE MANUAL!!!
There were other anomolies in the ropework too where others had also not read the manual and had fudged together pulleys that nearly worked, created redundant splicing and swopped parts. It's a wonder the boat sailed at all last year.

To cheer up I went for a swift walk around Sale Fell. And then went and downloaded the manual.
Ah ha! The outhaul has been used as the downhaul and that spinnaker bobble should be halfway up its halyard. All should be plain sailing now!
