Pergola Detail
At last a day of unbroken sunshine and we made the most of it. After working a long day in the gardens yesterday we needed a break so we had our first picnic of the year, saw our first butterfly (a brimstone), came across the first Canada geese of the spring too and on the way home drove past the nearest golf course to us where we saw our first golfers of the year. That was some feat considering that the course was still substantially under snow two weeks ago.
What you see here is a pergola at the horticultural college in Leppa. This structure started life as a cowhouse but that burned down many moons ago and there is almost nothing left of it now. It will look better of course as the spring advances.
