Water Droplets

The thumbnail and top left shot is somewhat of a 'eureka' moment as I was working for the first time with a Miops water splash kit which is a digitally controlled water droplet dispenser  as compared with my previous Splash Art kit which is analogue. With the Miops kit the size of the droplets and delay in firing there camera and the flashes is controlled using a iPhone app with digital read outs, whereas the splash art is controlled using a set of dials which are supersensitive and easily moved. Ideally the Miops should give me more controlled droplets and collisions which are repeatable whereas with my former kit you felt a bit as if you were in the lap of the gods.

However, moving from analogue to digital is never easy and it took me ages to record a decent single spout let alone a droplet collision with two droplet falling on top of each other. However, once you have reached the approximate digital readout it is easy to make little changes to control the droplets better. So the thumbnail was literally the first time that I managed to capture a collision ! Hopefully my skills will develop from hereafter.
