Arnside Knott
I went to Beetham to get some seed potatoes. I miss the old local garden centre which used to sell a great range including various heritage varieties. Anyway, at least here you can pick ones and twos as well but just not such an interesting range.
I headed on to Silverdale for a walk out to Jenny Brown’s Point (gathering some early sea beet for supper). As I was watching a couple of larks pairing a chap passed and said that the bitterns were booming so I went on to Leighton and heard them. I realised it was almost in exactly the same place that G and I heard them probably over 30 years ago.
Then I headed on for a late walk up Arnside Knott which echoed with gladders and Gus before heading home.
