Purple anemone.

At B and Q this morning and noticed they were selling anemones. This took me back to when I was maybe about eight and had my own wee garden at home around the holly tree.

Mum had sent for anemone corms to the Woman’s Realm magazine. I planted them and the result was lovely purple flowers. No garden centres , as such , then!

Mum also used to send for cut out dress patterns. All my summer dresses were home made.

It ‘s funny how memories come flooding back after spotting a flower this morning!
