They did it
After years of discussions and complaints they finally went ahead and pulled the Willesden Green Library Centre down. A new centre plus additional housing will be built on the old site. For that purpose the council sold the car park land to a private investor to have the centre built at zero cost. None of the new flats built on that land will be classed as affordable housing though and they are now being advertised in Singapore as an investment. One of the selling points is the absence of key workers/affordable housing in the new building.
