The aquarium
Luca got readmitted due to the infection in the uppermost incision made for his appendectomy. It was a maximally invasive procedure, as far as the bacteria was concerned.
As he was in the A&E from 3.00pm on Sunday until a room was sorted at 7.30am, he was a little bit worse for wear today.
But he was somehow transferred to a much bigger, quieter room in the private part of the hospital. The public part of the hospital has a deal with the private section, to manage the overflow.
I would like to think that the upgrade was by way of compensation for the night on a chair in the crowded A&E room but it may be more due to the fact that he is a relatively "low touch" patient, with just regular monitoring and changing of the IV antibiotics bag required.
Or because he looks so stylish in his blue tartan pyjamas.
