Old friends

This is the mother of my friend Alice who lives in the small town of Peka in Lesotho. I visit her as often as I can. She is a remarkable lady. She is in her eighties in a society where the life expectancy is around fifty. She has had a tough life but when you speak to her you only feel love and a real sense of her love for God. She is loved and cared for by her remarkable family.
Last year I could not visit her and so friends of mine took some letters and presents. The picture shows my letter being opened and her expression when she saw the photograph of my wife and I.

Does she treasure our friendship? It looks like!
