Solo Swan
I drove up to the Taylor Dam again this morning. The dogs stayed in the car as the temptation to chase ducks and other birdlife may have been too great. So they had to wait patiently while I captured a few images.
I had taken the little Panasonic Lumix with me... It takes great shots but up at the Dam one really need a DSLR with a fast lens in order to capture birds taking off from the water’s surface. A fast shutter is also useful for capturing the lightning fast landings on the water.
This swan was fairly close to the shore. It had just pulled its head out of the water after feeding. I thought it looked quite tranquil and happy with its own company.
