Canada Geese Flock
A perfect spring day with blue skies and warm sunshine.
We did a slow-roll ride out to Meadowlark Prairie Wetlands to make the most of the lovely conditions.
On the way, we spooked a flock of several hundred Canada geese that were alongside the bike path.
They passed about 30 feet (10 meters) over our heads with an amazing cacophony of flapping wings and honking calls.
The geese circled and landed about 500 hundred feet (150 meters) behind us.
We watched a turkey vulture that was soaring on a rising thermal, then made a spectacularly rapid circular descent all the way to the ground.
We could not figure out what caused all of the fuss for the vulture as its ground search failed to produce anything edible.
It, certainly, was a fun trip to share.
