Frogspawn

Went to St Andrews Square then around by Queen Street gardens first thing. This pond had extensive cleaning a few months ago .. will watch to see what comes of this (and no doubt the heron we saw here a month back will watch too). 

Afternoon walk to Inverleith. There are new straw cushions in the pond; 2m long x 40cm or so wide; they look too narrow for nesting. Gulls perching on them; I wonder what effect is intended. The swans were feeding; no sign of any egg laying in the nest. Lots of tufted ducks about. 

Back in by the Water of Leith path; the river is a little higher after the most recent rain. Mild out of the West wind, 11C.
