Repurposed

I was in Kirn this morning (at the dentist) and parked just next to this.   The inscription was quite clear but I couldn't workout what its purpose was until I looked it up on line and discovered its history.  

Various bits have not survived but much of the original is still there including the dedication.     In contrast Kirn Pier, just along from it, has fared far worse and is now merely  a stump of rubble.
