Great Antshrike
I've finally managed to complete the missing entries from last week's trip, so my journal is now up to date. I expect to be working on the photos taken on the trip for some weeks to come. The first triage has reduced the number of possibles down to 1,500 but I'm expecting to remove another 1,000 from that group in due course (if not more).
In the meantime my Field Guides are becoming increasingly dog eared as I try to ensure that the birds are correctly identified and my records updated.
I do appreciate that to many of you they are "just more birds" - but as I seem to have embarked on a study of Ecuadorian bird life (I'm not quite sure how that happened really as I didn't set out to do so), I suspect that I might try to go back to other parts of Ecuador in due course. The Southern area incorportating Buenaventura Copalinga and Tapichalaca looks interesting, but we will have to see in due course...
