Mystery Object
for Tiny Tuesday
I feel this is one of those things that blippers will register with in the back of their sub conshus - but the memory stays dormant because it’s just too painful to recall.
(Doncha just love fonetix)?
Anyway I want to recount an incident that happened to me yesterday.
I was in a queue for the check out at the supermarket. I had 7 items. A lady in front of me with toddler and also infant in sling and elderly man behind me with small number of items. We had all loaded our items onto conveyor belt. As the young woman in front of me was about to pay, the guy on the tills said ‘sorry ladies and gentlemen but the card machine is broken, I can only take cash.
I immediately became concerned about the young woman with the small children - but she had enough cash and paid and packed her groceries. I was next but knew I was ok as had cash plus emergency 20 spot in my phone wallet thing.
But then remembered I had bought something with that 20 and hadn’t replenished the note.
I had just enough coinage to cover it but not sure.
So I said to the guy on check out I wasn’t sure if I was OK with payment. Ah don’t worry he said in that Polish/Irish beguiling accent, we’ll see how we get on. He rung up 26 euro 50 which I knew I didn’t have on me in cash.
So thank you to the lady with the 2 small children who hovered to pay and also to the gentleman behind who offered to do the same, I want to acknowledge your absolute kindness and thoughtfulness. Everywhere I go I see kindness and compassion.
Tiny ThankYou Tuesday - it’s a ting
