Cherry Blossoms
These flowers are cherry blossoms (Prunus × yedoensis, commonly known as the Yoshino cherry). They are known for their delicate pink or white petals and bloom in early spring. Cherry blossoms are widely celebrated in many cultures, particularly in Japan, where they symbolize the transient beauty of life.
Somei Yoshino trees are widely planted in parks and along streets, particularly in Japan, the U.S., and Europe. They bloom in early spring, with their flowers appearing before the leaves.
Little Man had nursery today, which gave me the chance to do some housework, mainly tidying up and laundry. I've discovered that i can get the laundry done, hassle free, if Little Man's otherwise occupied. I started it whilst he was at nursery, and then folded it up when he was in the bath. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the bathroom, which is pretty typical for a Dutch house. You often find sockets in the bathrooms here, which is illegal in the UK. I found this out during an inspection when I was renting a flat with my ex-husband. We had to remove the washing machine from the bathroom (and in flat, as there was nowhere to use it). So it doomed me to eight months of using a local laundrette. Thank goodness those days are done.
I spoke to my mum and then went to get Little Man. I called my life group leader for some advice when we got home as I wanted her advice on some stuff. Little Man and I had a lovely day at home, together, before dinner (fish and chips). He then had a bath, and I put the laundry away. He went to bed after we read a few books together, which he loves.
On a side note, Little Man has been in nursery for a year now, as of this morning. It's one of the best decisions I've made as he really loves it, and learns so much whilst he's there.
