Derelict...
When I drove over to the fairgrounds for my meeting yesterday, I spotted this derelict shack out in a corn field and made a mental note to myself to come back one morning to photograph it. And since I needed to get Jax out of the house this morning, I thought it would be a perfect time to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Truthfully, I would have been better served to get there earlier when the sun was lower, but the schedule wasn't really mine to make. I think it meets the challenges of "derelict" and thank Marlieske for continuing to host the challenge each week.
My meeting yesterday with the woman in charge of horse events was great and I am all set to photograph my first event at the end of April. It seems like I will have quite a bit of flexibility in terms of where I can position myself so hopefully I can manage the light as well as the action to maximize the shots. The first event is in the Western style of riding which should be a good starting point for me.
This morning I was finally able to get my tattoo rescheduled and I also booked flights to Oregon to visit my parents in a few weeks. So, April is shaping up to be a busy month. Not to mention that our spring bird migration will start to gather momentum in late April (which is when I usually see the first hummingbirds of the year). April and May are two of my favorite months of the year.
Cheers,
Debbi
