And Underneath
My refurbished Ercol "Chairmakers Chair". Sandy from Threemilestone has done a great job and I'm very happy with this chair, which will sit nicely in my hall. It really needs a cushion though so today I rang Bryan at Stage One Upholstery to arrange for him to make me same. I have to post off the fabric tomorrow (so that it matches the other one in the hall). Apparently the 4 little screws are something to do with the studs to hold the chair cushion in place. Handyman Dave came round at my request too. And after a bit of a struggle we managed to install a new radiator valve (on Lounge2) and (the difficult bit) then "pair" it with my Hive heating system. This involved talking to a customer services person (may well not have been an actual person. we will never know) through an app on my phone. This was something of a nightmare. But, I think now done. This afternoon I had a visit from Paul, a HEAT Energy Surveyor through some scheme set up through Surrey County Council. This was really interesting with a few things that I didn't know about and can actually do something about (put some insulation on the door into the eaves storage and keep the aging boiler serviced and replace with a better brand in a few years). There were also some things which I wondered about but are much more difficult to tackle. But, on balance I think that my little house is coming out "about average". Which is pretty much what I personally aim for these days. I can't remember what else but I've managed just 8,415 steps so could be better and indeed worse - pretty much average I suppose!
