The bench says it all!

We have had a brilliant first full day. Breakfast by the pool. Stunning Atlantic sunrise. Walking miles along the coast into Funchal and back. Inspired by the Moor influenced cathedral ceiling and the busyness of the cruise ships. (3 here today!)
The glimpses of the original architecture. The narrow streets of the old town. The lashings of freshly made ice cream and irresistible Madeiran pastries. Crickets chirping us to sleep!
