Camellia

………. I’ve had this plant for about 18 months now but despite having a bud on it last year, it, sadly, didn’t open :-( This year I was pleased to see two buds appear on it and was hopeful of a bloom. The buds remained big and round but resolutely tightly closed and I started to lose hope of a flower when some of the outside petals of the bud turned brown at the edges after the recent frosty period. However, today I noticed that both buds have finally opened and I can, at last, see the beautiful flowers ;-)
