Math Conference

Got up especially early so I could spend a couple hours driving through thick fog on slick roads. Anything to get a break from classroom instruction! It was nice to get the opportunity to talk shop with other teachers and I came away with several ideas I think will improve the effectiveness of my teaching.

Favorite comment I overheard: "I will die on the hill of partial quotients and area models in fifth grade math!" Love it. Of all the hills to die on!

At the end my name was even drawn in the raffle and I got to watch the presenter clam up in confusion over my name. I hollered it out and pranced down front like I was on the Price is Right. Free math resources for the classroom, whoo hoo!
