First day with the swords!

I have been up early on the roof for my RTS practice in the morning whilst the others did the morning meditation.
Then joined the chi gong in the court yard.
Before breakfast that was.

Then we got introduced by Trudi to our swords.
She did a little ritual and let us all pick our swords.

Then carry the beast up to the roof to our first practice!

I never has a sword in my hand and it felt quite heavy.
Photo in the extras by the way.

We learnt some moves and practiced for a while.

The swords ate Berber Swords - called Nimcha!
What we learnt was aligned to the traditions here.

I loved it - although I felt I looked like an idiot with it ... but that shall pass!

In the afternoon Kat and I went for a stroll. We did not join the Souk tour - instead we did our own tour.
We went to the Henna Cafe, which is a Women's cooperative where all profits are going back to the community.
We both got henna tattoos on one hand for MAD 200.
You can see in the blip how beautiful and intricate the work is they do.
We also had some  food there and payed for spare plates that will feed 10 people each in the community.
We loved it there.
And we loved our henna tattoos too.

Back to the Riad for our 101 Night feast which was embellished with music!
Guys with drums and quite shouty music turned up exactly when we got the soup served ......
And then another 3 times afterwards ... honestly - one time would have been enough ...
It was a lovely evening - although a few of us were missing the meat - I was one of them .....

My Sword is in the extras .....
