Kendale
A new sculpture has appeared in the grounds of the parish church commissioned jointly by the church and surprisingly, the Environment Agency. It represents Kendal in the 1600s, based on the earliest known map. The gap down the middle is the River Kent which having a lot of money spent on flood defences by the Environment Agency. Sculpted by local James Mitchell out of a 170 year tree that came down in Storm Arwen. It was erected in June 2024 and this is the first time I have noticed it, waiting as I was, for an orienteering course to open
