New Path

A railway bridge which has reached the end of its life is being replaced next year .

The bridge goes over the M6 motorway and is just outside our village you go through a farm and you can walk over the fields to Askham and Lowther.
Loads of construction activities are on going two fields at the moment one had horses in and the other usually sheep and cows .
Definitely no cows in the fields this year which is good for walkers who don’t like walking through fields with them in (me included).

The railway bridge will be closed for two weeks next January so the structure can be demolished and replaced over two weekends. ( we shall see).
The M6 will also be closed for two weekends in January in both directions between Shap and Penrith so best to stay at home!!
