7am Tuesday

Arrived in AMU at 6.30am and very grateful to be able to lie down.  At 7am the welcome tea trolley came round and at 9.30am the Consultant came to do her ward rounds.  She was lovely,  went through the results of all my tests and confirmed that the changes and new conditions were consistent with the advance of my heart failure and age and probably exacerbated by the infections I’ve had during this Winter bug we seem to have been battling with since early February.

Good news, she discharged me and is informing the Heart Failure clinic to say that there was no further need for a follow up appointment with their Cardiologist.  No one wants to be a burden to the NHS but I’m glad that my total of 25 hours in their kind care and all the tests done in that time enabled the Consultant to make an informed diagnosis of the facts before her.  Therefore I won’t be needing to attend out-patient appointments on many different dates, thus freeing those appointments up for someone else.

Thank you NHS.
