Up on’t moors
Cowpers Cross, dated to possibly the 16th or 17th century and restored in the 19th. The cross is complete, but mainly modern and badly restored; only the socket stone appears to be original.
Took Sal up on the moors to grab a few more Turf zones. She did her stuff and I walked to the cross and back. The moors are on my doorstep and I haven’t really paid any close attention to them up until today. It felt great to be high up and feel both the sun and wind on my face.
Before going up there we went to Kildwick and walked by the canal to the farm cafe. The coffee ain’t the best but it’s still a cracking cafe. The full English brekkies looked amazing.
A belting day, the best I’ve had in ages. Cut my grass with my new mower once I got home :-)
