Today we wandered through Hackfall, an ancient woodland landscaped by William Aislabie. It’s rich in wildlife and plants, and, especially this time of year, is full of birdsong. We encountered Goldcrests, Chiff Chaffs, Nuthatches, Dippers, Wagtails, Coal Tits, Wrens, Robins and a pond alive and wriggling with frogs, toads and newts. It’s a beautiful place.
