Area Activities

This was my first task for the day - marking out the square metre on the floor in preparation for the revising of area and perimeter for those with upcoming assessments/exams. We had access to a wooden version last year, but that's moved with its owner, and this seemed the simplest solution.

The students who were tasked with checking my work were impressed it was accurate to within a few millimetres, though there is one side I was tempted to redo. Happily the length of the sides of the carpet tiles are all 50 centimetres which helped! As does the many years of taping down wires and cables in church.

It's been entertaining watching the reactions of those coming into the room - it's definitely sorting out the observant from the non-observant. And that's just the staff...
