A different perspective

Over the years I’ve mentioned the shopping centre less than half a mile from where we live: Cameron Toll. It opened in 1984 and within a few days flooded as the Braidburn overflowed. As a result considerable flood prevention schemes went in, some of which are in the centre of the picture.

The area used to be allotments and that’s how I recall it when growing up. Wee moved into the area in 1988 and it has been a very convenient location for shopping.

I have posted one or two photos of it over the past decade but never from this perspective. It shows the Braidburn running clear and slow. The shopping centre is on the right; Arthur’s Seat in the distance (still with the necklace of white bags which were dropped by helicopter the other month); and the medical practice on the left.

A busy day being out and about and when the cool wind dropped it was lovely in the sunshine.
