Curry Night!

My home town is Birmingham, England where fantastic Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and many other Asian cuisines are easy to come by. The choice is endless. So, after being here in Hong Kong for 4 months, (eating fab food of course) I miss the Friday night ritual of getting home from work, putting the plates on to warm whilst my husband pops out to collect a curry to start the weekend.

Imagine my delight when, this afternoon I was reading a HK foodie's blog which was extolling the virtues of an Indian restaurant here in Kennedy town, I didn't need a second bidding.......

Oh dear, anticipation and expectation overwhelmed the reality! The garlic nan was undercooked and the butter chicken tasteless. The rice was good, but you expect rice to be good here! I had a good view of the kitchen and the chef, a quiet, organised and perhaps slow style as opposed to the frenetic energy and noise I am used to at home.

So, I need to be patient, I will be home at Christmas, and a trip to the local curry house will be high on the list!! :-)
