Ready for Takeoff

I was out for a walk this morning looking for dragonflies on the last few days of the holidays when I was buzzed by this guy and his partner. It seemed like this area of the boardwalk was their domain and I was trespassing. Eventually this on landed on the boardwalk and I managed to get a few shots of him/her. I wanted to get as low as I could to push most of the chickenwire out of focus without resorting to tilt-shift, either in camera or in potatoshop. This was one of the best shots I got and I am pleased with it. The other dragon was much more richly coloured, a deep red, but, unfortunately, it maintained aerial surveillance and wouldn't settle.
