1915: First U.S. citizen killed during World War One
Quote Of The Day
"Here lie the first soldiers of the illustrious Republic of the United States who fell on French soil for justice and liberty."
(Inscription on the graves of Thomas Francis Enright, Corporal James Bethel Gresham and Private Merle David Hay in France from November 5th 1917 until July 16th, 1921)
Our delightful International School secretary, Sanae, drove me to the Hyogo Agri Life Center today so that I could conduct a recce for my class visiting there on April 13th. It looks really nice and I am sure the children will have a wonderful time. They will get the opportunity to try picking mushrooms, as well as seeing where the vegetables are packed before being sent to supermarkets. They will have a picnic by the plum tree in the Extra (there should be many plum trees in full blossom when we go there), see many different types of fruit and vegetable fields, and have the opportunity to buy fresh produce in the on-site shop. Sanae loved that and she bought lots of vegetables there because they are fresh and cheap. I'm really looking forward to going back with the children, especially if the weather is as nice as it was today.
Sadly, the photograph I took of Sanae in her car was too dark to use.
