So We've Come For The Blossom!

Having loved our visit to Japan in 2018, we're back for more, much more, probably at the busiest time, both for too long and not long enough... we'll see.

After my pleasing sunrise blip yesterday, our plane from Madrid to Tokyo hit a few minutes of scary turbulence while going over the Japanese Alps (snow on them thar hills), there were screams, there were stewardesses hanging on trying to get passengers back in their seats, there were moments of closing eyes and thinking of good things. Having said that, as I said, it was about 5 minutes, but OMG. We've had worse, it was probably the screams that made it worse. The flight had been uneventful before and after, it was good to land.

First up was to get the limousine bus from Narita to Haneda. Second up was to wait 4 hours for our next flight... it was a separate booking so we didn't want to risk missing a flight due to flight or bus delays.Third up was to begin our next flight with warnings that we would be delayed due to severe turbulence... OMG no! Sure enough, with 30 mins left of the flight, pilot says we've got 10 mins to use the toilets then need to be strapped in tight! Don't worry, it wasn't severe, but the threat, sorry promise, was enough to scare our bejesuses out of us! But it was fine...

So landed in Nagasaki at 6.50pm, over 48 hours after we set off. Finally we were here properly and first up, sorry fifth up was to get the bus to Nagasaki city where we were staying. Despite the plane being late, the buses aligned with flights waited for us and we had enough time to board and avoid a 40 min wait for the next one.

After checkin, we headed out and had enough coins to get us on the street car to the Nagasaki Peace Park which the four photos are of, plus the Atomic Bomb Hypocenter Monument (1945). And low and behold, the cherry blossom was scheduled to start from the 28th in Nagasaki, and we found some. We are meandering around Japan and will likely see more of it as we go.

Sixth up, bedtime! Think we've had about 2-3 in the past 32 hours! Looking forward to seeing the city in the daylight.
