Trainset
Looking down at Edinburgh Waverley at lunchtime doing a little bit of trainspotting, I saw this LNER Azuma train. Who on earth is Eleanor?
Well, Eleanor is a Very Important Puppet and is actually LNER's new mascot. No, I don't quite understand either, except that I think the new campaign is aimed at children who may thereby pester their parents for rides on trains. So they've named the train after her, at an event a year ago. Other Azumæ have names like S&DR 200, Century, You Belong, Our Planet, and Together. Time was once when we named trains after race horses and army battalions and Scottish clan chiefs and occasionally British Rail's club for young people.
I returned to the office today, opting to skip coffee with bikey friends first thing and buy cheaper coffee at work. I was wild and carefree and had non-decaf, but it was too strong and I didn't feel right until gone lunchtime once I'd filled myself with buckets of tea. I also didn't get as much done as I wanted to, and had to do a lot of project steering and guiding instead.
I did my hours though and then cycled the heavy torpedo to Mum and Dad's for tea and a slideshow or two, then rode home in the chilly evening air.
