Olaias Metro Station, Lisbon

We stayed in a hotel in Lisbon next door to the Olaias Metro station, and I was stunned by the whole of it, when compared to any of the other stations.

My Blip is of the enormous cavern of a platform, with a long series of columns on each side of the track. The walls are decorative as are the platforms themselves, and elsewhere in the station vast walls are covered in abstract designs of tiles, thousands of them.  My first extra is part of a ceiling, and I spotted another staircase to nowhere (second extra).

The whole station was an artistic delight, including the maintenance hatches that were not simply metal grills, but patterned and beautiful!  Worth a visit to Lisbon just for this Metro.
