It Rained Last Night

I took this early this morning when I went outside to get the paper. And that’s about it for my day. I did spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone with an Apple rep, trying to figure out why my password was suddenly wrong, why I couldn’t use the computer, why nothing she came up with seemed to work. At the beginning of the session there is a message to the effect of Please be nice to our technicians. Treat them kindly. (I wish I could remember the exact wording.). I always laugh at this, imagining why they feel it is necessary to remind people not to give their employees a hard time. The truth is that I never in Life Before Computers became as enraged as I do over these machines. I never felt so angry and helpless and stupid as I do in these situations. It’s another bit of the cost of modern life. Assignment: list all the ways computers have made your life better.
