Character
It’s been another disconcertingly quiet day at work.
Whilst it means I can keep on top of things, my natural anxiety leads me to question whether it is the calm before the storm, particularly in the wake of another two resignations this week.
Oh well, I keep doing my bit and the pay keeps landing in my account every month, so I guess it can’t be all that bad?
There was some sad news received, which was the passing of one of our theatre troupe who had been bravely battling cancer. She was a lovely lady who did loads for our group - goodness knows how many costumes she had made over the years - full of character, funny, candid and absolutely loved and adored her husband/sparring partner who she leaves behind and with whom the thoughts of the group reside. Shed a few tears today with memories of her backstage, both fussing over her beloved and at times being kind enough to help me in and out of ridiculous but lovingly made costumes.
It’s a testament to her character that messages of love and support poured into our group chat all day.
The weather couldn’t make it’s up mind up today with various bouts of a cold wind, warm sunshine, hail and rain. I got caught in the tail end of some of this as I popped out for a Mother’s Day present.
With the arrival of the wee ones and the closure of the laptop, we headed up for a weekend hug with my parents where my mother showed us all what she had been on with - namely this collection of crocheted characters, which are all very cute.
Very clever, but I don’t know how she has the patience!
