Spoonbills

Must have been tired after all the wood-stacking/lawn mowing/bike-riding over the past few days as I slept a whopping 9 hours last night!  Good to wake up feeling energized so I put my energy to good use and hopped on the bike down to the spoonbill location to arrive just before high tide.  A much higher tide meant the birds were a lot closer but (unsurprisingly) it also mean there was a lot less 'walkable' land between me and them!  I still enjoyed a good hour-plus sitting and watching, waiting for the moment they realised the tide was going out and they needed to move somewhere a little more watery if they wanted food.  My wait was worth it and they very kindly performed a mini-fly-by for me before re-settling in a very slightly new area.  Happy with that :D
