Approaching the Bolthole

We have not been in the red-roofed bolthole for some time.  The old sixty-nine year old stove has been removed and a new one is pending, ceilings are being lowered.  It was a boost that Martin was there for a catch up.  On a socially -anthropological sidenote the Current Mrs Creel spent all her Orcadian childhood in the bolthole.  It has proved to be such a haven of peace and tranquility* after the pressure cooker conditions of the Orkney Mainland.  We were across for a meeting in the Hoy Kirk to plan the new ‘Hoy Heritage’ season (April – Sept).  Kirk structural work and a new heating system were also under discussion, much of this dependent on funding.  By this stage two of the ladies had started knitting.  We later retreated to the ferry and across to Stromness.  Shopping in Fletts and Argos then back to Creel HQ for another round of intense hedonism.
