In town

We were up and sprightly this morning and headed in to town. I was lucky enough to be dropped just across the street from the Ashmolean where we were going to visit the Anselm Kiefer Exhibition. While the others parked the car and walked back we sat in the sun watching bus loads of tourists entering the museum (thankfully not destined to join us in the gallery space this time). A couple nearby got up to go in and as they passed handed us a pair of solar eclipse glasses and said.. take a look and hand them on!  What perfect timing! it was 11 am and the eclipse was probably at its peak! We tried to take a photo with our phones through the glasses but mine wasn't very crisp. Without the glasses the left hand picture shows the eclipse in the mini green flare from the camera but not in the sun itself! We handed the glasses on to a young family who had no idea it was happening.. they were very excited! The glasses started their life at the Total eclipse in 2024 in Texas.. I wonder how they came to be handed on outside the Ashmolean.. fun! The exhibition was great.. loved that and then we went to have a pizza at Franca Manca.. super delicious and very quick and lovely service there.. we will be back.
Home now and chilling.. Supper is already prepared so just needs baking and serving with salad. We may play with some lino cutting and printing this afternoon
