Weather conspiring to darken the mood

Another day of working. Actually, as much as I would like to complain about it, I actually liked it. I spent a lot of the morning editing, and then moved onto the translation in the afternoon.

In between, there were a lot of little chores – like driving Mrs. Ottawacker into work for a meeting – and then writing some letters and taking them over to Shoppers to be posted. I think they are the first letters I have sent this year; priced out of the market, I suppose.

Mrs. Ottawacker told me, with excessive glee, I thought, that we were due to be hit by some sort of monster snow storm this weekend. Between 15 and 30 cm of snow to start off with, then a brief pause and then 15-30 cm of iced rain. “But it will all have gone by the end of next week,” she said, as if that made it any better. Seriously, what sort of country gets this weather in what is laughably called spring?

Came down after dinner and saw that Tui was having a hard time believing it as well.
