crumbling
In the morning we visited the Energie Museum again. This time Max and Rowan came along. It's the last chance to visit without a tour and if things go to plan it will close for good at the end of April because they will lose the building (which used to house a huge battery bank). On the other hand maybe the project might not be funded and they get away with staying. We shall see, but it doesn't look good. They did light the mercury rectifier for us again (see extra).
I then went along to the ICC to check out the motorway bridge over the Ringbahn which is currently closed because it is crumbling. I don't mind so much about the motorway. But it is in such a bad state that the Ringbahn is also closed. It is not clear whether the bridge can be propped up or needs replacing. I guess there is quite a lot of infrastructure that wasn't renewed in the last decade or so that is falling apart.
The Congress Center is also closed for similar reasons. It is a pretty cool building.
I then walked back into town along Kantstrasse to Bahnhof Zoo stopping for a Currywurst and a beer on the way.
