Vienna

We arrived yesterday evening so only had time to go out for dinner so today was our first day in Vienna.

Unfortunately it has rained all day, however it didn’t stop us doing what we had planned. Our hotel is situated on the main shopping street so we spent this morning wondering around the shops. Then this afternoon we got the tram over to Schonbrunn Palace and it was really stunning inside. We did a self guided tour with audio, today’s picture is the ballroom where they used to host opera and dances.

After the tour we were a bit hungry so went in a lovely cafe and tried the famous strudel with a cherry filling, it was yummy!

In the grounds of the palace was an Easter market I’ve never been to one before and it didn’t disappoint I’m now the owner of Easter tree decorations so looks like I need an Easter tree when I get home.

We the had a look around the palace gardens which were lovely but I think better on a dry day.

Tonight we have gone for a lovely Italian meal and a couple of drinks.

Hoping no rain tomorrow fingers crossed!
