Vital Sparks

A little too far

Feet up for a few days after this expedition through the heather.

It was a success I did see a Ring Ouzel, the mountain blackbird recently arrived for the Summer from southern overwintering sites in North Africa or as east as Turkey.

The bird was in almost the same place as the first time I ever saw one in the 1970s. That day my mother and I heard the alarm calls saw the bird and went home to look it up in a book.

So unused to ploughing through the heather I was barely able to get out of the armchair in the evening
