Life in Canada

Ice, Ice, Baby

We were so fortunate only to get a little bit of freezing rain. Many places around us have had no power all weekend and trees have fallen. It would look a lot more enchanting if the sun was shining but it is a dull day. In extras, I have a shot of a tree branch from my front yard.

My main blip is a sculpture by Bill Lishman.  My partner used to be a triathlete and remains an avid cyclist and when he was out cycling one day, he came across a property with unique sculptures, so he knocked on the door.  Now he has three Lishman statues plus one of the Lishman chairs. I met him because I had admired Lishman's work for years so when a Lishman (the cyclist) popped up on a neighbour's yard, I had to ask questions! The rest is now history....

Lishman was a local artist who not only did incredible sculptures but he also was the subject matter of the film, Fly Away Home. He had the idea to teach Canada geese to migrate and the movie chronicles how he managed to do this. I admire his creativity and genius!

Can you believe that April is almost here?  Wow...
