Off again

We had three days without power as a result of Storm Eowyn, and then another two and a half hours, without notice,  just afterwards.

That was at the end of January, but last night the power suddenly went off at 7.40 in the evening and the outage lasted until this morning.

I still don't know what caused it, but having registered the fault (which was showing on the map in the SSEN app) I got messages  all night to say it would be sorted at midnight....then at four ...then at seven...and then at eight thirty.

It eventually came on around 8.15,

Cathleen, clearly alerted by some sort of sixth sense, had been talking a couple of hours before the black out about the need for us to check the battery lights and phone chargers, some of which we had before Storm Eowyn (but didnt have ready to hand) and some of which we had got as a reaction to being without power for the longest period since we came here 33 years ago.

So at least we were better prepared this time, nor did we lose water or mobile phone signal.   But it would have been nice to have been given a more accurate estimate of repair time, as well as  some proper information about what was causing the problems.
