Surprised!
My earlier thought of a blip at about 12 noon was the lovely cards and flowers received from my sons, both cards with super special personal poignant messages.
My younger son called about then, as I was coming home from the Abbey Mothering Sunday service, where I’d been a sidesperson , we chatted for ages , caught up on stuff and I asked where he was - he said down by Kew…a few minutes from home. Perfectly credible as I could hear bird song!
I was home about 2 minutes sorting laundry when the doorbell rang and there he was! The little monkey had come up by train from London then walked from the station all the while talking to me :)
To say I was gobsmacked would be an understatement!
Fortunately I could stretch dinner ( roast chicken) to 3 and rustle up a GF syrup sponge for dessert. We also went to the garden centre and he helped me plant up my spring pots( another potential blip?)
I’ve just run him back to the station : a short but incredibly sweet visit !
